The congress centre consisting of hotel and residence in Cracow was an interesting challenge to check a locality abroad for the intentions of potential Slovak investor. The proposed architectural solution of the site, with organic shaping and generous use of materials, was assumed to correspond to its location next to Visla river and the Old Town of Cracow, with the dominant – the Wawel Royal Castle. Hotel shaped as sharply cantilevered cylindrical segment was assumed to dominate the site in question, and to attract attention when viewing from the Old Town and from the Wawel terraces; in turn, most of the siter visitors would have the opportunity to view the royal castle and the Old Town. The design also included the option of staged construction, and work with historically valuable objects in the Debniki quarter.
