Close vicinity of theatres, cinemas, schools and thousands of students had been the pre-requisite for building a place for cultural events within the new theme of the square "Kollárovo námestie (Kollár Square) – a cultural multimedia square". The light transparent architecture designed was intended to evoke the impression of airiness and lightness, and to close, but not reduce, the area of the square. The building was also intended to provide a counterweighting counterpoint to surrounding traditional buildings with point windows and heavy compact walls. The shape of the mass of the building reacted to the lines of the streets forming urbanistic are of Kollárovo námestie. The cour d'honneur of the building was oriented towards the square - park, as the climax of the main composition axis of Kolárovo námestie. The building's parterre is devoted to the public to maximum extent - from all sides of the square and from the object's inside through the passage, by which the main axis of the square penetrated into the building.
